BYD TPMS tires pressure sensor and valve cap

I notice that my BYD has a plastic tyre valve cap, and it looks rather flimsy. I am thinking of changing to a metal cap made of aluminum. I notice that the OEM TPMS sensor comes as a set with the original plastic valve cap. Will changing it to aftermarket aluminum cap have a negative impact to the pressure reading ?

No. You can just change to metal. My KIA eNiro had metal caps

My goodness ! That’s something to worry about with those more costly caps. Keep some cheap plastics spare caps, in your car if that happen again

But be sure to regularly unscrew/rescrew the metal valve caps! By brother hat metal caps and did not touch them for ~1 year, as the pressure was okay. When he then wanted to unscrew them, they oxidized and fused together with the valve stem. We could unscrew 3 out of 4 with rust dissolver and gentle force, but the last one was so attached to the valve stem, that the whole valve stem twisted off.
