BYD hires over 100 000 engineers, and their head designer was the head of Audi, Lamborghini and Alfa Romeo. There's no better designed car for the price.

In my opinion, yes.
Speaking for germany here, the only problem with BYD and Chinese automakers in general is not the quality of their cars but the availability of service points.
I would have gladly bought the BYD Seal but the nearest service point is 40km away. Thats way too far away and also what happens if that service point closes down?
That's what prevented me from buying a BYD.

Don't buy Atto 2 = small battery, FWD, passenger seat which don't have height regulation. FWD might also giving a shitty handling / steering performance and reviewers says that Atto 2's handling / steering isn't the best.
Wait for Atto 3 EVO = RWD, 75kWh battery, 313 hp, might be not so much more expensive than Atto 2, in my country "old" Atto 3 facelifted in 2025 used to cost only 2 000 EUR more than Atto 2, prices for EVO should be realeased in april or been realeased in some countries.
There's also Leapmotor B10, with 67 kWh LFP battery, RWD, 218 hp engine and fully equipped (incl. 360 camera, ventilated seats, etc.), but my first choice as a B-C SUV would be waiting for Atto 3 EVO and prices.
Don't buy an electric car with NMC battery as they are too risky, only LFP.

I agree! It's a beautifully designed and we'll put together car.

I need something that is at most 4.3m. I don't want a large as like Atto 3 or B10 because I don't have children, I don't carry too much stuff, and parking here in Spain isn't always easy so the smaller the car the better.
I've watched more than 20 reviews and they all say that the driving experience is between "ok" to great". For a car in this price range and size this sounds pretty good to me.
Leapmotor doesn't sold well here in Spain and their cars don't even make into the top 20 most sold EVs, so I don't want to risk buying a car that will be too hard to sell or find parts.
Don't get me wrong, your recommendations are great but IMO these cars are not in the same category: Atto 2 is SUV segment B while Atto 3 is segment C.

Ich habe einen Atto 2 Comfort bestellt und kann ihn in 3 Wochen abholen. Ich habe auch nix vergleichbares gefunden, vor allem mit dem aktuellen Rabatt

It's your money and your choice but it looks like even if Atto 3 EVO (the new one) cost the same as Atto 2 you would've chosen the Atto 2.
Really - 15cm difference is the keymaker? 46 kWh vs. 75 kWh makes no difference, FWD vs. RWD makes no difference but 15cm length?
On the other hand ... it's somehow normal, i needed to wait 2 weeks for my BYD Seal and i was going crazy :D But i've chosen a car with 82,5kWh battery, fully equipped and a BYD product which is the best driving car from BYD portfolio (only Yangwang U9 might have better handling than Seal) - so there was "something behind my choice" ... which wasn't length of a car. Emotions aren't always a good choice.
Was the reviews made by people who own the car? - about steering experience / handling / cornering:

I was having a BYD Seal U which is a FWD EV for few days as an exchange car, it was my worst experience ever with a car handling, nightmare, the worst was acceleration with a FWD EV vehicle + lane changing at the same time + poor (light - so you don't feel what's happening with the car) steering handling . So from a theoretical point of view a FWD in an EV @ BYD vehicle doesn't sound great (especially with the light wheel steering) - but on the other hand i was driving this car 130-140km/h on a highway also + Sport mode agressive driving, maybe you need it only for the city?
Actually from all Chinese brands Leapmotor is the most secure one, as Stellantis has shares in it. I wouldn't have bought a BYD if it wasn't being sold by a big dealer here who also sells Mazda and Hyundai (if it was a separate brand only) and Leapmotor is being sold by a Stellantis together with Opel, Peugeot at the same dealer, nothing more secure as a huge company is behind Leapmotor, behind BYD there's only a local importer. And Leapmotor is also a big player in China - just as an info.
Good luck with your Atto 2 ;)

Atto2 32k€ vs atto3 evo 38k€, my choice if size is not a problem leapmotor b10 higher end version 30k€, definitely better than atto2. B10 is Sold by Stellantis and built in Spain before 2016 ends, so parts won't be a problem.
