You will enjoy home charging. It takes less than a minute to plug in when you come home. When you leave the next morning it will be full. Depending on how much you drive, the included 10amp charger may be enough. If you drive a lot per day, you might have to get a three phase charger installed.
Get the PlugShare app. Makes finding chargers easier when you are on road trips.

Start off on Eco Mode. Anything else will have you rolling 2 meters the minute you lift your foot off the brakes.
You’ll love the turning radius, parking is a breeze.
Try out both regen modes before you settle with one forever.

Do not use the lane assistance, it is dangerous, like particularly bad for any modern vehicle. I have gotten a lot of phantom breaking with distance keeping cruise control. We got a sunroof cover immediately, it has poor tinting and makes the car very hot in Aussie summer.

Coming from 4WD like I did, power understeer is a thing, ease on the pedal out of corners or you'll be going straight ahead

Likely AliExpress but Amazon has them as well. Just get the sunroof shade with the suction cups. It allows the sunroof to still open if you every wanted to. I think we have opened it once in 3 years :P

Get the dealer, whoever you bought it from, or call your local BYD office and get them to add you to the app. So you're the owner and you can then use the remote features. Turn off the lane keeping assist permanently.
Learn how the auto hold works. You can get it to creep like a regular automatic, which is great for new drivers and actually for anyone. It's safer.
Make sure you know what the drive modes do. I just leave it in support mode. It doesn't affect range.
Read up on what the range means. You'll average about 14 kWh in a temperate environment in the city and about 19kwh at 100 km. You have a 60 kilowatt hour battery, so do the maths on that.If you live in a cold environment it'll be worse.
You can't use the Tesla Chargers as our 2022 models don't work there. You can get a refit for about $400 in Australia, but I don't know where you are. I don't care because I charge at home.
You can turn down the low speed sound and the indicator sound to something more normal if it's set to factory.
Let me know if you've got any other questions. I've had mine 3.5 years.

100%, you can turn it off permanently but you can't turn off emergency lane assist.

Ecomode isn't related to Auto Hold, it's Auto Hold that gives it the torque converter feeling of being able to control it with the brake pedal at slow speed, which personally I like because it's safer.

I've got really high quality Michelins on the car, but even when I had the Batmans, you had to really provoke it mid-corner, like slam down the throttle, so OP should be right.

First roundabout I negotiated on my way home and emergency braking kicked in. Scared the shit out of me. The Chinese obviously haven’t mastered how to feed into the roundabout.

Yes, we charge during the day off the PV panels. Just plugged into a wall socket, so it’s very slow. But it suits our purposes.
In an emergency we will take a meal at our local brewery while the car gets a fast charge just down the street. Absolutely love our Sealion7.

BYDs are known to drive similar to ICE cars, so there shouldn't be any difficulties adjusting.
These earlier Atto3s had suboptimal Batman tyres which are slippery in the wet. I would recommend upgrading them. Also 2022-23 years had incompatibility with Tesla DC superchargers. there is a fix available for $300 via BYD. I always used Eivie chargers so never needed it but if there are only Tesla chargers in your area maybe worth upgrading.
With all the latest software updates all the assistance systems can be set up permanently to be not annoying. Lane keep is good, keep it at prevention in settings, this way it will just gently guide you back into the lane without beeping. and adaptive cruise is good as well, auto steering part is not perfect but useful.
I've been driving a 2023 model for 2+years so if you have any other questions let me know

One challenge you might have is the frustration with non EV cars inability to get going off the lights in a timely fashion. Similarly, because it's quiet, you won't have the same noise cues like an ICE car, so it's very easy to be "heavy footed"....

> get a three phase charger installed
Do not get one "installed". Get a "mobile" 3 phase charger. You can use it at home, or anywhere else also where you have an apartment or ski resort or something which has a 3 phase plug. And THERE, chances are you will need it more to charge faster (because you are on the go), so good to have it with you.

Biggest thing a new EV owner needs to learn, especially if they have come from a car with a regular fuel gauge and not a percentage, is that you should probably add a quarter to a half extra on top of your expected battery usage until you know what it's doing. E.g. the car might only use 20% to get to a place, so make that 30% mentally. Somewhere takes 70%? thats now 105%, so you need to factor in a charge along the trip. But getting out mid trip is amazing anyway. Fuel consumption, even in terms of petrol/diesel, is not intuitive. Even fancier ICE cars with range readouts are usually significantly off, whereas an EV can cut it pretty close. It's very easy to get caught up in the 'it only takes X%, so that's all I need' because in an ICE vehicle that works, your mind probably isn't as used to that level of precision, so just having that bit extra, not only for peace of mind, but also if something unexpected \*does\* happen, can keep you out of trouble. It's a lot harder to move an empty EV than an empty ICE vehicle, I know from experience.

I use and push the limits of the lane assistance quite frequently, it's way better than it used to be, way less skittish. I wouldn't recommend it for inner-city driving, but anything else I haven't had issues for more than a year.

The only safety feature I turned off was the beeping when going over a speed limit. The camera doesn’t recognise speed limits based on times so I had a lot of false alarms.

Continentals are good.
Also find out if the 12v has been replaced. Often die after 2 years.

Grab a cheap 7kW charger off Facebook Marketplace. Do not buy the Tesla one. And get a mate to install it for you on the cheap. Trust me, you'll be thanking me later, especially when the free power between 11 and 2pm kicks in for everyone in Australia on the 1st of July.

Put it in eco mode to start. Maybe even snow mode if you're spinning too easily.
