I've got the 2022 model and so far I've been quite happy with everything it has to offer.
However, as a heads up I had to change the 12V battery because it died once minus temperatures hit, and also the car stopped recharging at one point because I had taken it to car wash and moisture got inside the recharging port which then froze.
The battery change was painless and the charging issue stopped after I took the car for check up and they let it warm and dry over the weekend. I'm now waiting for a replacement part for the recharging port which supposedly fixes this issue for good.
So while a comfortable ride with lots of neat features (I've got the Design trim) there can be technical issues unless those have already been addressed.

That’s really helpful info for a Swede. The part about moisture freezing in the charging port is exactly the kind of thing you’d want to know in a colder climate.
Good to hear the issues were fixable though, it still sounds like a solid car overall. Will probably go for the Atto 3, though the MG Marvel R and Peugot 200/3008 has started to creep up on my list

Don't know about MG but Peugeot apparently has pretty poor build quality compared to BYD. I also looked at it as an alternative but didn't see anything that was better I in Peugeot. But that's just me.

Yeah I kind of feel the same. The bang for buck on what you actually get with the BYD just seems unbeatable at the moment. For me, the only thing the others really have going for them is the looks. Both interior and exterior.
I’m heading to the dealership on Wednesday though, so that’ll be the first time I see the BYD interior in real life, curious to see if it changes anything.

Lots of differences between the newest model and the 2022 model.
Slower fast charger, no heated steering wheel, no rain sensor, no ventilated seats, no drowsiness/driver alert system, and so on.
Solid car if your daily commute is no more than 200km+, at least here in the colder months

The battery should still be in warranty, just check the degradation. If you can get one of the long range models for a decent price id say its worth it. Only thing that has failed for me is the 12V battery. Dont use the lane assist feature as its terrible.

Oh no heated stearing wheel will be missed… I live and work in Stockholm so I rarely commute more than 200km

Thanks!! Will do that. How is the Cruise control?

The cruise control uses the distance from cars in front of you. I get regular phantom breaking to the point where people must think im break checking them. I only use it for road trips.

Dane here, while I miss the heated steering wheel (mines a 2022 model as well), the pre-heat function makes it tolerable

Good to know! Would hate to freeze my hands of every drive 😅

Ah okay! Do you have any other tips or tricks regarding the car?

Yeah same here when one forget to preheat. It's also a distinctly different type of heating, coming from a ICE. Very slow heating, but it does get hot eventually.
The seat heating will have you sweating fast though.
Also, if you have a daily time you have to leave by, you can set a planned timer for the heating in the app, so you don't forget it 😁

Should have a 1,000,000km battery and there isn't anything outdated about it. There hasn't been any big tech leap since CD players to tablets on infotainment systems and won't be for the foreseeable future.
