BYD Atto 2 vs BYD Atto 2 DM-i which one is better?

I already decided that I will buy this car over Kia EV3, but now it's been like weeks since I am trying to decide between the full EV version or the DM-i version. I will buy the top of the line version and they are essentially the same price (150 euros diff). Differences I noticed in the versions sold where I live (besides the obvious engine difference): * DM-i version has seats with adjustable headrest. The EV one does not. I prefer the adjustable. * DM-i version has a glasses storage for the driver * EV has more boot space * EV one has that crystal-look gear knob in the middle, while the DM-i has this as a lever near the steering wheel. My profile: * I don't have a home charger but I intend to install one by the end of the year. * I won't use the car to go to work. I will only use the car for visiting nearby cities, going to supermarket, restaurants, small towns * I plan to do at least 1 or 2 road trips per year in europe * I plan to keep the car for a long time I always had combustion based cars so I afraid of picking the wrong one here. I also wonder which one is better when it comes to software. ChatGPT sold me the DM-i version like if it is the 8th world wonder, saying that it is the best of the both worlds and that the battery charges very well from the comb. engine and that the car manages to always stay over a certain percentage of battery so it always delivers high performance when needed. Is this true?

Service intervals: EV: every 2 years or 30.000km DM-i: every year or 15.000km (including oil change) I would definitely go for the EV in your case, as you have a home charger in a few months and say yourself that longer journeys are limited to 1 or 2 times a year! Notneed to carry a whole engine + gasoline around all the time and pay for extra maintenance ever year. Also depending on where you live, do you maybe get some tax reduction for EVs? (In Germany EVs do not have to pay the vehicle tax for 10 years!)

I’d pick the fully electric version any day over the petrol burning one. No petrol stations, less complexity, and fewer things to go wrong. With a BEV you only need to charge occasionally, once a week or once every two weeks. With a hybrid, you’re charging every couple of days or just burning imported fuel.

I live in Spain and the tax discounts are higher for EVs but I already accounted for them when I said the prices are the almost the same. To be honest the only thing that annoys a lot me are the seats without adjustable headrests, but I guess you're right. Maintaining the EV is probably much cheaper and greener.

Did you already test both seats? Are the "fixed headrest seats" really inferior for you/your partner? In my Seal I also have "fixed headrest seats" and for us, we do not have any comfort losses compared to our toher car/previous cars with adjustable headrests.

Actually I was misled by their website and the seats. For some reason they show different seats in the configurator, but in reality the adjustable headrest are available in both versions. So yeah I'm going to buy the EV because I found that is has more things than the dmi.
